KUALA LUMPUR - TWO of South-east Asia's deadliest strikers crossed paths in a chance encounter at the lobby of the Hilton Petaling Jaya hotel on Tuesday.
When they last met at the Jalan Besar Stadium last Saturday, Singapore's Aleksandar Duric and Malaysian ace Safee Sali did their best to outdo each other.
They each plundered two goals, but Duric came out tops as the Lions won the first leg of their 2014 World Cup second-round qualifier 5-3.
Yesterday, that rivalry abated momentarily, as the duo stopped to shake hands and pose for pictures. But, once the pleasantries were over and Safee made his way to the coffee house for lunch, a peppy Duric went on the offensive.
The veteran striker, who scored the Republic's first and fifth goals, told The Straits Times: 'Malaysia are under huge pressure. They're running scared of us.
'We've the two-goal advantage, but they're making it seem like the heat is all on us for the second leg.
