The Singapore Sports School and leading sports brand adidas have entered a partnership to kit the school's football academy under-13 to 16 teams.
It includes a full sponsorship of the Sports School's 18 strong under-15 team, who will wear the latest adizero F50 boots with the adidas miCoach SPEED_CELL, a micro chip that allows analysis of the player's statistics such as distance covered during a match, as well as speed and stride rates.
12 Sports School student athletes were also sponsored in equipment.
"The Singapore Sports School is constantly exploring the application of technology into both the training and competition environments," said the Sports School's deputy director of sports John Limna.
"We look forward to a collaboration between adidas and the Sports School Football Academy and Performance Enhancement Institute staff to maximise the potential of this technology for the benefit of our student-athletes."
adidas Sports Performance and Sports Style Marketing director Amit Das Gupta added: "It has always been part of our core belief that sports should be a part of everyone's lifestyle ... And we remain committed in driving this, especially among Singapore's youth."
