Singapore SEA Games Football Squa
The day has come for our Young Lions to make the trip to Jakarta, Indonesia to compete in the 26th SEA Games football competition.
In order to commerate the occasion, The Football Association of Singapore organised an informal farewell breakfast for the players, officials and their loved ones. Attended by both family and friends, everyone shared well wishes with one another.
And with so much optimism and positivity filling the VIP Lounge at Jalan Besar Stadium, it was clear to all attendees that the team is fired up and is looking to achieve the best for the nation and its citizens.
Speaking more on the farewell event, The Young Lions captain Hariss Harun mentioned "This is something new and it is nice to see everyone appreciating us and also to give us a good sending off. We are heart warmed. And we want to do our best and hopefully we will come back with good results.”
Safirul Sulaiman said it best when he said "We are ready."
He then went on to add "The team has prepared well and will take one game at a time. We will meet the power houses first, and as always, the first game is the most important. We need to win the first game to be psychologically on track. We have never won the gold medal before, and I have a good feeling we can change things around."
With moods on a high and time ticking away, the team then got ready to leave for the Airport via the chartered coaches, with their family and friends accompanying them on the ride.
The players and officials are set to do their job and now it is up to you, the fans to do yours! Get behind the Young Lions on the 7th of November, 4.55pm as Mediacorp Channel 5 will bring you the action 'LIVE' from Jakarta, Indonesia!
MAJULAH!!!!!
