Singapore: Defender Daniel Bennett will win his 100th cap for Singapore if he appears in the Lions' friendly with Thailand in Bangkok on August 24 after the 33-year-old stopper was named in Radojko Avramovic's squad for the third round of Asian qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Bennett's 99th international appearance came when he played a full match in the island republic's 1-1 draw with neighbours Malaysia, which sealed a 6-4 aggregate win and Singapore's place in the next qualifying phase for Brazil 2014.
The Singapore Armed Forces stopper, who was part of the team that defeated Thailand to win the 2007 AFF (ASEAN Football Federation) Championship, is one of 20 players from Lions squad that faced Malaysia that have been called up to Avramovic's 25-man squad for the friendly against the Thais as well as the World Cup qualifying Group B matches against China and Iraq.
Tanjong Pagar United keeper Ridhuan Barudin replaces previous third-choice custodian Jasper Chan, with Chan's Young Lions team-mate Nazrul Ahmad Nazari also out while there have been call-ups for the Geylang United duo Hafiz Rahim and Shevki Sha'ban and Gombak United's Ismail Yunos.
Singapore open their third round campaign away to China on September 2 before entertaining 2007 AFC Asian Cup champions Iraq four days later.
