SINGAPORE, 23 June 2011: The Singapore NFA U-16 drew 1-1 in their match against Everton FC U-15 at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

The match got off to an exciting start with winger Jonathan Tan dazzling the fans with a great dribble before he rattled the crossbar with a powerful shot. The visitors instantly replied with a shot that forced NFA Singapore
U-16’s No.1, Fashah Rosedin to punch the ball away.

The Toffees then worked hard to break down the stout Singapore defence and got their reward through a goal scored by Calum Dyson in the 20th minute. Their joy was short-lived as within two minutes, Hazim Hassan put the NFA Singapore U-16 back on level terms.

The rest of the first-half saw both teams trying to regain the advantage but to no avail. Both teams came out in the second-half, seemingly intent on finding the back of the net with a flurry of chances created on both ends of the pitch.

Fans were treated to a moment of brilliance when the Cubs’ right winger Hanafi Akbar cleverly flicked the ball over to Hazim Hassan inside the penalty box but Hazim mistimed his shot with only the the goalkeeper to beat.
