Match Preview: DPMM FC vs Woodlands.

The Rams faced a tricky, away match against newcomer DPMM FC who has four points against Ram’s 2 disappointing points in two matches. However, a win for Woodlands Wellington will lift them above DPMM FC in tomorrow’s clash at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, Brunei. Both sides have yet to taste defeat. However, DPMM FC has a home advantage and they can put pressure on co-league leaders SAF FC and Gombak United in the Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League should they win their encounter tomorrow night.

DPMM FC’s prolific scorer Shahrazen Said has passed the fitness test and he will be featuring in the first XI in tomorrow’s clash. There were doubts over the ankle injury he suffered during the mid-week match but he has completely recovered. This would mean DPMM FC’s new hero Abu Bakar Mahari may have to settle again in the bench. His two-goal effort (in two games) has brought DPMM FC to new heights and restore their confidence in the dressing room and on the pitch.

During a brief interview, Simunic hopes to make full use of the home advantage tomorrow. “Our schedule is very tough. We have nine games ahead but only two home games. So must get three points in our next game. The fans are again important and I hope they bring the same atmosphere like the last game. This will give more inspiration to the players as I know we are not fit as other teams.

As for Sharazen’s fitness, Simunic is happy that he will be playing in tomorrow’s fixture after doubts over the ankle injury he suffered in the last game. The Croat added, “I won’t change the winning formula and my bench is also important at this stage.”

Catch the game on Sunday, 8th March at Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium at 8:45pm
