SINGAPORE, 22 March 2009: KRFC player selected for invitational friendly

KallangRoar Football Club is proud to have one of its players selected to feature in the S.League Sponsors Appreciation Invitational Friendly.

Basil Yeo, KRFC’s star midfielder, participated in the above event, which was held at Jalan Besar Stadium before the “LIVE” S.League match between Geylang United and Tampines Rovers on 20 March 2009 (Friday).

Yeo played alongside Super Reds chairman Charlie Yoon, Woodlands Wellington coach Nenad Bacina and The New Paper journalist Ernest Luis among all, and his team came out victorious 3-1 against a side starring luminaries Quah Kim Song and Dollah Kassim, Sengkang Punggol manager Richard Wong and The Straits Times journalist Wang Meng Meng.

“I am honoured to play on the same pitch as Uncle Dollah and Uncle Kim Song, as well as friends from the media and the Football Association of Singapore, and those invited by Great Eastern. Most importantly, it was a great experience for me, especially since I was probably the youngest on the pitch,” said Yeo.

“Most of the invited guests had never played on an artificial field before, but thanks to the time playing with KRFC at SAFRA Tampines, I was able to adapt more quickly and even provide a deep cross from the flank to one of my strikers when I played at right back in the first half.”

KRFC is delighted at Yeo’s achievement and the club looks forward to more opportunities for its players.
